About the 42nd Annual Festival of Lights

The Festival of Lights is one of the D.C. area's great community traditions. Beginning December 5th, the Festival features free performances nightly in the comfortable, state-of-the-art theater located in the Visitors' Center.

A different performing artist or group is showcased each night, including bell ensembles, choirs, orchestras, and more! 

The Visitors' Center of the Washington D.C. Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. 

- Temple grounds glow with over 400,000 lights, December 5th through January 4th

- Nightly performances in indoor theater

- Christmas trees decorated in international themes

- Exhibit of crèches from around the world

- Life-sized outdoor nativity

Go to FestivalofLightsDCTemple.eventbrite.com to reserve tickets in advance. Tickets will also be available one hour before events at the Visitors’ Center. Tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Individuals may pick up tickets for other members of their party.

While waiting for a performance to begin, you are welcome to enjoy the lights, Christmas trees, and international crèches.

Everything is free and open to the public. Tickets are not needed for the lights or crèche exhibits. 

Parking is limited due to construction. Overflow parking may be available at adjacent chapel at
10000 Stoneybrook Drive. Attendees are encouraged to take alternate forms of transportation,
including taxis or hired drivers from the Forest Glen Metro Station.
